A-League: Victory defeat Adelaide 3-0

Saturday night’s Victory over Adelaide United proved to be one of the most dominant wins of Victory’s season so far.

The first half saw a scrappy performance opening to the game, which was capped off with Victory going 1-0 through an own goal, thanks to a Adelaide United defensive error.

There was no error 7 minutes later, as Victory winger Leroy George found the top left corner with a wonder strike from a free kick, putting Victory up 2-0.

Adelaide created very little offensive threats within the first 45 minutes, which ensured the score remained 2-0 at the half time break.

The second half saw Adelaide United forward Cavusevic red carded after an altercation with Victory defender Rhys Williams.

It didn’t take Victory long to capitalise on Adelaide’s 10 men, as Berisha put another one into the back of the net, just 4 minutes later.

Despite a few chances at both ends, the game finished 3-0 to Melbourne Victory.
